Sugar, Gravy, Pleasure: An Indie Odyssey in Peterborough tells the story of The Sugar Club, an alternative music night that ran from 1991 to 2002. Based on Pete Elderkin’s award-winning memoir, the documentary captures the spirit of a music scene that thrived on the edges of mainstream culture. It won Best Documentary at the Global Film and Music Festival in the USA and Best Director – Documentary at the 2026 Five Continents International Film Festival in Venezuela. The film also screened at the Mesa International Film Festival in Arizona on August 15. Sugar, Gravy, Pleasure has been selected for the British Independent Film & Television Awards 2026 season.
