The pub has announced the difficult decision following professional assessments which found the large central tree is suffering from canker and is heavily affected by mistletoe.
In a statement, the pub said the decision had not been taken lightly.
The pub said the safety of visitors had to remain the priority, with the garden regularly used by families, children, dog walkers and customers.
The statement added: "We will be very sad to say goodbye to such a wonderful old feature of The Farmers Arms.
The pub, which is located around five miles south-east of Taunton, occupies a prominent countryside location on the edge of the Blackdown Hills.
