According to data from AirAdvisor, 3.24 per cent of scheduled flights from Cardiff Airport were cancelled between July 1 and September 30, 2025 – more than double the UK average of 1.33 per cent for the same period. Aberdeen and London City ranked second and third, with cancellation rates of 2.66 per cent and 2.59 per cent respectively. Anton Radchenko, CEO of AirAdvisor, said: "Cancellation rates can’t always be viewed as a standalone judgment of an airport’s overall reliability, as there are so many different factors that can lead to flights being scrapped. "Bad weather, schedule density, and the distance of the routes being served at an airport all play a role in the likelihood of a hub having particularly low, or high cancellation rates." Birmingham Airport has seen its cancellation rate drop to around 0.65 per cent so far this summer, half of last year’s 1.21 per cent.
