Azerbaijan’s SOCAR Trading carbon projects cut 63,697 tons of emissions

Two carbon projects implemented by SOCAR Trading in 2025 resulted in a reduction of 63,697 tons of greenhouse gas emissions measured in CO₂ equivalent, according to SOCAR’s 2025 Sustainability Report.
According to the report, the SOCAR Hydro Bundle-3 renewable energy project in Lachin prevented 5,872 tons of CO₂-equivalent emissions.
The 7.1-megawatt project replaces fossil fuel-based electricity with renewable power generated by a small hydropower plant.
Meanwhile, the Advanced LDAR project at the Neft Dashlari field reduced methane emissions by 57,825 tons of CO₂ equivalent.
At the same time, SOCAR conducted Azerbaijan’s first climate risk assessment and disclosed its findings.
