With the UK confirming its record fifth heatwave of the summer, it’s little wonder that ice cream markets are benefitting – with Haldiram’s the latest to engage in the market with six new flavours, reports Neill Barston. Priced at £4.50 per scoop, its ice cream range has been designed to introduce consumers to a different side of Indian food culture through flavours rarely found on traditional UK ice cream menus. Milk Cake Crumble features pieces of real milk cake folded through the ice cream, while Royal Rose Falooda is inspired by the classic rose-flavoured dessert drink. Saffron & Mango combines Alphonso mango with saffron, while Masala Chai brings the distinctive blend of tea and spices into a new format. Rhea Agarwal, Commercial Director, UK & EU at Haldiram’s, said: ‘Since opening in Leicester Square, we’ve seen growing interest in South Asian desserts and flavours.
