A judge has thanked journalists for keeping the case of an infamous fraudster “in the public eye.” Pamela Gwinnett, pictured, was finally jailed last week after originally absconding before her trial and going on the run for 16 months. After she was finally brought before Preston Crown Court on Monday, Judge Michael Maher thanked “those journalists who have helped keep this case in the public eye and ensuring that Pamela Gwinnett was held accountable for her criminal activities.” Gwinnett was given a further two-month sentence for breaching the Bail Act on top of the six years for fraud and theft. Rosalind Scott-Bell, defending, said Gwinnett still claims to be innocent and plans to appeal against her conviction.
