The pair are facing charges of being found in possession of Cannabis Sativa without a permit, contrary to the country’s cannabis laws. Under Malawi’s cannabis regulatory framework, possession and handling of cannabis must comply with the conditions set by the authorities. For now, Chirwa and Kandodo remain accused persons, and the allegations against them have not been proven in court.
