PARSIPPANY — Signage has been removed from the Embassy Suites by Hilton hotel at 909 Parsippany Boulevard, and the property’s roadside sign has been left blank, following a filing that the hotel would lay off 54 employees by August 14.
The hotel, which has nearly 300 rooms, filed the layoff notice under the state’s Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notifications (WARN) program in May.
The property’s roadside sign has been left blank after its lettering was taken down.
The property’s owner, 909-Parsippany Boulevard LLC, along with the Kushner Real Estate Group (KRE), has proposed converting the hotel into a residential building with up to 210 units under the Township’s affordable housing plan.
Of those units, 49 would be set aside as affordable housing under the Township’s Fourth Round Housing Element and Fair Share Plan.
