NET Web DeskThe Sikkim Vigilance Police (SVP) have arrested a Head Assistant of the Tourism Department in connection with a major financial irregularity case. The case originated from a written complaint filed by the Sachiva of GDZP, who reported irregularities spanning from 2018 to 2025. During the search of the arrested official’s residence, the SVP seized materials relevant to the investigation. This arrest follows earlier detentions of two accountants and a Senior Accountant-cum-Drawing & Disbursing Officer of GDZP. Authorities estimate that the irregularities have caused losses amounting to crores of rupees to the state exchequer.
