Turkmenistan highlights transport cooperation with Georgia

Turkmenistan has highlighted the importance of cooperation with Georgia in developing transport corridors connecting Asia and Europe.
The minister noted active cooperation between the two countries at the regional and interregional levels, with particular attention focused on the development of transport corridors connecting Asia and Europe.
“The development of transport corridors connecting Asia and Europe, including the Middle Corridor and the Trans-Caspian route, is among the issues at the center of attention,” he said.
The minister also highlighted the practical implementation of major international transport initiatives, including the Lapis Lazuli corridor agreement signed by Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Türkiye and Afghanistan in Ashgabat in November 2017.
He also referred to memorandums on the establishment of the Caspian Sea-Black Sea corridor signed by the foreign ministers of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Romania in Bucharest in March 2019.
