From Idu Jude, AbujaNational Chairman of the Labour Party, Senator Nenadi Usman, has urged Nigerian politicians to emulate former President Goodluck Jonathan’s approach to politics, particularly his decision to concede defeat in the 2015 presidential election.
Usman spoke with journalists in Bauchi on Tuesday on the sidelines of the 2026 Goodluck Jonathan Foundation Democracy Dialogue, which was held in the state capital.
Usman said the Labour Party was positioned to defeat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the next general election.
According to her, the Labour Party remains the only opposition party with a realistic presence across the country’s 186,000 polling stations.
The 2026 Goodluck Jonathan Foundation Democracy Dialogue was themed “Beyond Elections: Can Political Parties and the Judiciary Save African Democracy?”
