The Schengen Area’s new Entry/Exit System has faced severe technical failures, system bugs, and long border queues. Because no official applications are open, travellers must avoid fake third-party websites claiming to sell or pre-approve ETIAS forms. While officials have hoped the system might launch sometime in 2027, a definitive date has remained unconfirmed. When it eventually launches, the ETIAS will cost €20 for adults between 18 and 70 and will remain valid for three years.
