N Chandrasekaran will not seek reappointment as Tata Sons chairman when his current term ends on February 20, 2027, he has told the board. He has also asked the Tata Sons board to take a decision on his successor soon to ensure a smooth transition. The proposal was subsequently recorded and recommended by the Tata Sons Nomination and Remuneration Committee and the board.
