The event, held in Wimborne on Saturday, August 8, brought together residents and visitors for a day of live entertainment while raising funds for Julia’s House Children’s Hospice. Presenters took turns on the decks, inviting the public to make song requests in exchange for donations to the Dorset-based charity. A spokesperson for Radio Wimborne said: "Our first Radiothon was a fantastic day for a fantastic cause. "We’re also extremely grateful to the people of Wimborne for supporting the Radiothon and Julia’s House.” Chris Brown is also known as Dapper Dan on Radio Wimborne and hosts a popular reggae show.
