An intelligence-led follow-up operation by troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE in Plateau State has exposed and disrupted an armed bandit network in Langtang North. During the operation, troops recovered an AK-47 rifle and ammunition after defeating an ambush at a suspected weapons hideout. The operation followed the arrest and interrogation of a suspected bandit, whose information led troops towards Nwur Village to recover a weapon reportedly concealed by the criminal network. The recovery provides an immediate indication that the intelligence obtained from the arrested suspect had led security forces to an active weapons cache associated with the bandit network. The operation remains focused on denying the criminal network the freedom to operate around communities in the area.
