TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian authorities rescued over 130 people from a burning ferry on Wednesday near the tourist island of Bali.
The fire broke out on the Padang Bai-Lembar ferry route connecting Bali and Lombok and is also used by tourists travelling between the two popular destinations.
A ferry in the vicinity had evacuated 30 passengers and brought them to Bali.
A search and rescue vessel was on its way to Lembar port with 59 of the rescued passengers.
And in July last year, a ferry sank while travelling between Java and Bali, killing nearly 20 people.
