The Osun State Police Command has summoned Francis Fadahunsi, the senator representing Osun East Senatorial District, over his viral comment in which he called for the killing of members of the Accord Party. The invitation followed widespread reactions to the senator’s remarks, in which he was accused of directing supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to “kill” Accord members if they encountered them during the electoral process in parts of the state. The police summons comes amid growing concerns over the senator’s remarks and their potential implications for the conduct of the electoral process. In a letter dated August 11, 2026, the police invited the senator to “clarify the circumstances” surrounding the statements allegedly made during an APC campaign in Ilesa on Tuesday. The letter, signed by Samuel Etaifo Erale, the commissioner of police elections in Osun State, ordered Fadahunsi to report to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Osogbo on Wednesday, August 12, at 11:00 am.
