Osun election: APC candidate’s absence from peace accord shows lack of commitment — Accord

The Accord Party has questioned the commitment of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to a peaceful Osun State governorship election, citing the failure of its candidate, Muniru Oyebamiji, to personally attend the signing of the peace accord.
Salam said Governor Ademola Adeleke remained committed to ensuring a peaceful election, contrasting his position with what he described as the APC candidate’s absence from the peace-signing ceremony.
The Accord spokesperson also alleged that the APC had been responsible for acts of aggression and rising tension in Osun in recent months.
His comments came amid heightened political tension in Osun as political parties intensify their campaigns ahead of Saturday’s governorship election.
The election will be contested across the state’s 30 local government areas, with parties urging their supporters to remain peaceful and participate in the electoral process.
