Construction of a new road bridge in Semey, Kazakhstan, is ongoing as part of efforts to improve transport connectivity between city districts separated by the river and reduce the load on existing crossings. Installation of bridge deck blocks and orthotropic plates is underway, along with welding works on longitudinal and transverse joints. Construction of road approaches is also continuing. "The total length of the bridge will be 1,350 meters, including 540 meters of road approaches and 810 meters of superstructure. The new road bridge under construction in Semey (Abai Region) crosses the Irtysh River and is designed to improve connectivity between the city’s districts, which are divided by the river, while easing congestion on the existing crossings.
