After several rounds of talks between the Andhra Pradesh government and APJUDA junior doctors’ unions failed to yield an agreement, doctors began a phase-2 protest today. The doctors had demanded a 30 per cent increase in stipend, however, the talks were not fruitful. The union announced a boycott of non-critical services between 9 am to 4 pm and began relay hunger strikes from today. Meanwhile, authorities and doctors have remained in constant consultation as the standoff continues. The strike has been called to demand the government to concede to their demands of 30 per cent stipend hike and other related issues.
