How you can walk in the footsteps of Lancashire's rebel weavers this weekend
[]
Lancashire Telegraph | News
The walks are being organised by the Weavers Uprising Bicentennial Committee (WUBC), a registered charity that commemorates the handloom weavers' uprising across Lancashire between April 24 and 27, 1826.
On Saturday, walkers will set off from Haslingden before making their way to the Grane Mill Engineering Museum.
The 1826 uprising saw handloom weavers across Lancashire protest against worsening working conditions and falling wages as the textile industry underwent major change.
The events form part of the WUBC's efforts to commemorate the uprising and highlight the industrial heritage of Haslingden and the surrounding area.
