A 32-year-old man was shot dead by unidentified assailants at a brick kiln in Rupsha upazila of Khulna early today. The deceased, Fakhrul Sheikh, was a resident of Noihati village, said Md Abdur Sabur Khan, officer-in-charge (investigation) of Rupsha Police Station. He was staying on the brick kiln premises on the night of the incident. Around 1:00am, a group of assailants entered the premises, shot Fakhrul and fled. With the help of local residents, he was taken to Rupsha Upazila Health Complex, where an attending doctor declared him dead.
