A review of proposed amendments to the Edmonds tree code governing trees on private property and a proposal to expand automated cameras in four schools zone locations to ticket speeder around the clock are among the agenda items before the Edmonds City Council at its Tuesday, Aug. 11 meeting.
The council initially discussed the idea of expanding the duration the city’s traffic safety cameras — now limited to school hours only — at its budget workshop July 8.
The cameras are located at Chase Lake Elementary, Edmonds-Woodway High School, Scriber Lake High School and Westgate Elementary.
Regarding the tree code update, the goal is to focus on tree retention strategies, which City Urban Forester Deb Powers shared during a Council update in June.
The Aug. 11 meeting will begin at 6 p.m. in the Council chambers, Public Safety Complex, 250 5th Ave. N., Edmonds.
