The winners of Tuesday’s Republican primary for sheriff in Door and Kewaunee counties face two different paths moving forward. Eric Zellner captured the nomination in Kewaunee County, garnering 2,711 votes to Scott Szydel’s 1,606 and Kevin Schmidt’s 339. For Curt Vandertie, it is one race down and one to go after beating Carl Waterstreet in the Door County Republican primary for sheriff, 3,114-1,951. In the only other contested local primary, Shannon Lauder edged Pamela Parks, 2,598-2,326, for the Democratic nomination for Door County Clerk of Circuit Court.
