Southeastern Michigan Wind Ensemble presents “Americana” Aug. 23The Southeastern Michigan Wind Ensemble (SEMWE) will celebrate both America’s 250th birthday and the ensemble’s 10th anniversary with a unique musical event that combines a patriotic concert with a world record attempt at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 23 at Clarkston High School. SEMWE will present its free “Americana” Summer Concert which will conclude with an attempt to set a new world record for the largest number of piccolos performing Sousa’s “The Stars and Stripes Forever.” Piccolo players interested in joining the record attempt may still register for $15. The public is invited to experience this exciting afternoon of patriotic music and witness what promises to be a historic musical achievement. The Clarkston High School Performing Arts Center is located at 6093 Flemings Lake Road, Clarkston.
