KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 12 (Reuters) - Malaysian Prime ‌Minister Anwar ‌Ibrahim was expected to ​be discharged from hospital on Wednesday, his wife said, ‌according to ⁠a report by state news ⁠agency Bernama. Anwar, 79, has been ​under medical ​observation ​since undergoing elective ‌laparoscopic surgery to treat a para-umbilical hernia on Monday. He thanked supporters who ‌had prayed for ​his ​health ​and recovery, ‌his wife Wan Azizah ​Wan ​Ismail told reporters on Wednesday, ​Bernama ‌reported.
