Currency markets were instead focused on the upcoming release of U.S. inflation data later that day. The yen was unchanged against the dollar at 159.335 yen, staying close to its lowest levels of the month, even though U.S. and Japanese authorities recently stepped in together to support the Japanese currency. The euro, meanwhile, remained stable at $1.1537.
