Dudley waste investigations produced less than one in ten fixed penaltiesReport says cuts and high demand meant fly-tipping enforcement investigators struggled to meet expectationsView Image Fly-tipped waste In Budden Road Coseley (Image: Local Democracy Reporting Service)Fewer than one in ten waste enforcement investigations last year by Dudley Council ended with a fixed penalty notice being issued. "The recent improvement in the council's financial situation has led to a proposed increase of two enforcement officers, which once in place will help support the council's waste enforcement provision." ‌Fly-tipping, waste on private property, hoarding, litter, pest control enforcement, abandoned vehicles and unlawful waste disposal are among the problems the team investigates. Fly-tipping is cleared up by the council's Street Scene team who in 2025/26 tackled a whopping 2,602 incidents. The Street Scene team was also affected by cuts to its budget as well as other problems.
