Jaipur, Aug 12: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has arrived in Jaipur to participate in the two-day BRICS Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors (FMCBG) meeting, being hosted under India’s BRICS Presidency.
Discussions during the two-day meeting are expected to focus on economic growth, financial liberalisation, risk management and strengthening financial cooperation among BRICS economies.
Ahead of the meeting, Sitharaman travelled from New Delhi to Jaipur by Vande Bharat train.
The BRICS FMCBG meeting comes at a time when global economies are navigating challenges related to growth, financial stability, geopolitical uncertainty and evolving international economic conditions.
India’s leadership of the BRICS process is expected to place greater emphasis on strengthening economic cooperation, promoting financial stability and developing coordinated approaches to emerging global challenges.
