Retail sales in Greece rebounded in May, with sales volume increasing across most store categories and business expectations strengthening significantly in July.
Year over year, retail sales volume increased 6.5%, partly reflecting the low comparison base from May 2025.
Sales rise across major retail categoriesLarge food stores recorded a 4.5% monthly increase in sales, while department stores rose 1.7%.
Pharmaceutical and cosmetic products recorded a 2% increase, while clothing and footwear sales rose 4.6%, after falling 2.2% in April.
