Concerns have been raised by residents living on Harcourt Road in Boscombe who say new charging bays are “unnecessary and unwanted” and would worsen existing parking issues. Concerns were also raised that a decision had already been made as road markings for the proposed bays appeared before the public consultation had ended. Peter and Penny, who lives on Seabourne Road, said: “there is four EV charging bays being proposed when none of the residents who live in this road have electric cars. Our road is already a car park and if they take another four bays it is going to be chaos.” Councillor Andy Hadley, BCP Council cabinet member for climate response, environment and energy, confirmed that the road markings were a mistake.
