Australian aperitif brand TANICA has opened expressions of interest for a capital raise, with plans to develop a ready-to-drink range, double production and begin an export push into Asia-Pacific. The raise comes as TANICA prepares for the peak summer spritz season and follows a period of growth for the native ingredient-led aperitif. TANICA says sales have increased 159 per cent over the past two years, while gross profit is up 171 per cent over the past year. TANICA Founder and CEO Adriane McDermott said the brand was seeking to establish an Australian alternative in an aperitif category still heavily dominated by imported products. McDermott launched TANICA as a side project in 2020 before leaving the corporate sector in 2022 to focus on the business full-time.
