ROCHESTER — The ballot appears to be set for Minnesota’s 1st Congressional District race in the 2026 general election. Incumbent Republican Congressman Brad Finstad will face off against DFL primary winner Jake Johnson, according to preliminary primary election results Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2026. Finstad faced primary challengers, with Gregory Goetzman and Oliver Morlan vying for the GOP nod. Johnson won the DFL endorsement back in May. Earlier this month, Finstad and Johnson sat down for a political forum at Minnesota Farmfest where the two were split over farm policy.
