DULUTH — Tad Jude on Tuesday won the Republican nomination for Minnesota secretary of state.
Simon ran unopposed in the Democratic-Farmer-Labor primary.
He served 16 years in the Minnesota House of Representatives and Senate in the 1970s and ‘80s before becoming a Hennepin County commissioner.
She is a former chair of the Olmsted County GOP, ran unsuccessfully for House District 25A in 2022 and has served on her local planning and zoning commission.
The secretary of state oversees elections and voter registration, reviews and approves filings for businesses and nonprofit organizations, and handles a variety of other administrative functions.
