Michigan State announced a couple of new non-conference games on Tuesday, and one of them happens to be against a familiar head coach who a lot of Spartan fans don’t have the fondest memories of. That’s right, the former Iowa head coach is no longer with the Hawkeyes (obviously) and now heads the Penn Quakers. Yes, it was just a regular-season Big Ten game, but it was critical at the time because Michigan State was on the bubble at 17-10 with a few games left in the regular season to really impress the committee. Michigan State built an 11-point lead with about 90 seconds left and then Iowa went unconscious from the floor. It all started with infamous Fran stare-down of an official before the furious comeback in the final minute and a half of regulation.
