Two people were killed and four to five others are feared trapped after a landslide at Gausiya Chawl in Ghatkopar’s Chirag Nagar area of Mumbai early Wednesday. Rescue and relief operations are underway, with teams from the Mumbai Fire Brigade, Mumbai Police and the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) searching the debris. According to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) Mumbai Fire Brigade, the landslide occurred at Gausiya Chawl, where the collapse trapped several people beneath the debris. Rescue teams from the Mumbai Fire Brigade, Mumbai Police and NDRF are working at the site to locate and evacuate anyone still trapped under the debris.
