Mumbai: Two people, including a two-year-old child, died and six others were injured after a fire broke out on the 11th floor of a 12-storey building in Vile Parle West on Tuesday night, officials said. The fire was reported at the Shanta Bhavan building in Mumbai's western suburbs at around 10 pm. Eight people were reported injured in the incident, with two taken to Cooper Hospital and six shifted to Nanavati Hospital. Two others were treated and discharged at Cooper Hospital, while four injured who were treated at Nanavati Hospital are stable,” ANI reported, citing BMC PRO Office. Four people, two women, a man and a child, were rescued from the affected 11th floor and taken to Nanavati Hospital by ambulance for medical examination, according to the Mumbai Fire Brigade.
