Australians are calling for the requirements of a little-known compensation scheme for pothole-related car damage to be lowered amid an ongoing crisis on major roads. Harrison Coatsworth, owner and operator at A1 Tyrepower in Wangaratta, told 3AW that drivers are missing out. "After years of neglect under the Victorian Labor government, regional drivers continue to pay the price with awful roads," she said online. Compensation for pothole damage varies from state to state across the country. However, the Herald Sun recently reported that less than 2 per cent of those in Victoria seeking compensation have received payouts.
