Dead dog found abandoned on side of NJ bridge prompts investigationHAMILTON TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- Police in Hamilton Township are investigating after officers responded to a report of a dead dog abandoned on the side of a bridge near Second Avenue and Assunpink Boulevard on Monday. Police said the large brown dog, believed to be a pit bull, had no collar when officers arrived around noon. Hamilton Township Animal Control responded to remove the dog from the scene. As Hamilton police, township animal control and the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office investigate, some residents say they want to see cameras installed and more patrols. Police are asking anyone with information to contact Hamilton Township police.
