SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir government has submitted proposals to the National Medical Commission (NMC) for the creation of more than 300 additional postgraduate medical seats.
The Jammu and Kashmir administration informed the Department-related Standing Committee on Home Affairs that it has submitted proposals to the National Medical Commission (NMC) for the creation of more than 300 additional postgraduate medical seats.
“The Committee was informed that expansion of postgraduate medical education constitutes another important component of the long-term manpower strategy.
During the current academic year, approximately 120 additional postgraduate seats have been created across Government Medical Colleges, including those located in remote districts.
In addition, 286 postgraduate students are presently undergoing training in the seven newly established Government Medical Colleges and are contributing to specialist healthcare services in these locations,” reads the report.
