MOORHEAD, MINN. – Moorhead mayor Shelly Carlson has lost the race for the Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) primary in the District 4A State House race. Carlson, who did not receive the DFL endorsement, was defeated by mental health nurse practitioner Erika Yoney. With all precincts reporting, Yoney received 2,855 votes — or 65.7 percent of the vote — with Carlson receiving 1,491 votes. Yoney will advance to take on Republican challenger and political newcomer Andrew Rockhold in November’s general election.
