Minnesota Speaker of the House Lisa Demuth has won the Republican nomination for governor in a stunning upset over the Trump-backed Mike Lindell. The Associated Press called the race for Demuth at 11:27 p.m. at which time she led with 45.1% of the vote to Lindell's 31.0%, with 69% of precincts reporting. Nearly every poll before the election showed Lindell ahead. His national profile and support from President Donald Trump had been expected to bolster his electoral odds. Demuth will go on to face Sen. Amy Klobuchar, D-Minn., who did not face a significant primary challenge.
