Having built a career in death-defying stunts on motorbikes, Maddison received a call from his friend and off-road racer Jake Williams about sharing driving duties at the 50th anniversary Finke Desert Race.
This 30-minute film takes a look behind the scenes as Maddison traded his trusty KTM for a two-wheel-drive Trophy Truck, making his first start in Australia’s toughest off-road race.
Viewers are given a unique look into what drivers, team members, friends and family all go through in a race as tough as Finke.
To make Maddison’s life tougher, he wouldn’t even contest the entire race.
Williams qualified and started the race on Sunday, traversing the 225km journey from Alice Springs to Aputula (Finke), while Maddison was 2500km away in Rockhampton, Queensland performing motorbike stunts.
