ABC News has called the Minnesota’s 8th Congressional District Primary for Trina Swanson, the DFL-endorsed candidate running to take out Incumbent Representative Pete Stauber in the November general election. Pete Stauber, who won the 2026 Primary against Anthony Hamilton, a homesteader and hobby farmer from Mora. Stauber has held the congressional seat since 2018, marking a notable shift in representation for the district, as he became only the second Republican to hold the seat since 1947. He also served on the Hermantown City Council and as a St. Louis County Commissioner from 2013 to 2019.
