'Tin Bridge' to be replaced at cost of around £500,000

The council says to minimise disruption and any safety risk, no crane lifting operations will take place over residential properties.
The footbridge will be closed to all users while the work takes place and the canal under the bridge will also be closed to boat traffic.
Councillor Andy Solloway, who represents Skipton West on North Yorkshire Council, welcomed the work.

Almost exactly 20 years ago, the footbridge was in danger of being demolished due to it being a magnet for anti-social behaviour.
