Three men accused in a gang-related assault in downtown San Luis Obispo are headed to trial after a judge ruled there is enough evidence to proceed on all charges. Prosecutors say the three defendants allegedly stomped, kicked, and punched the victim, continuing the assault even after the victim was unconscious in the street. Investigators say the attack was captured on video. Authorities identified the suspects as members of a Santa Maria criminal street gang. Each defendant faces charges of assault likely to produce great bodily injury, along with gang-related allegations.
