That deep-seated global reality is precisely why a landmark transition at Purdue University’s Department of Agricultural Economics is making waves across the agricultural community.
Dr. Channing Arndt—an internationally renowned research professor and director of the Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP)—has officially been ratified as the inaugural Robert and Karen Thompson Chair in International Agricultural Economics.
Now, through their generous endowment, they are ensuring that Purdue remains at the forefront of international agricultural scholarship.
As Nicole Widmar, head of the Department of Agricultural Economics, points out, Dr. Arndt’s leadership continues to raise the bar for engagement scholarship.
“Purdue’s impact in the discussions and analysis for global trade have never been stronger or more recognized,” she says.
