Beautiful underrated village 'rivals Cotswolds' but with 'distinctly Welsh identity'

Cowbridge has been crowned one of the UK's most beautiful small towns by country clothing brand Welligogs, who said it had all the allure of a Cotswolds town without the massive crowds.
Visitors can pass beneath Cowbridge South Gate, remnants of the stone fortifications that historically protected the town.
A regular farmers' market is full of locally-sourced produce from nearby farms, featuring Welsh lamb and fresh eggs.
From Cowbridge, ancient stone walls and waterways guide you towards Llanblethian, a more historic quarter of the town.
It has all the character people associate with the Cotswolds, but with a distinctly Welsh identity and far fewer crowds.
