Victrola is targeting consumers who want the appeal of vinyl without being locked into a traditional i-fi setup, launching its Wave turntable with wired connectivity, high-resolution Bluetooth and Auracast wireless audio. The hybrid turntable is designed to bridge the gap between traditional vinyl playback and wireless home audio systems, giving the option to connect the turntable to a conventional wired setup or stream records wirelessly to compatible speakers and headphones. The turntable includes Bluetooth input as well as Bluetooth output, allowing consumers to stream music from other devices through their audio system while also transmitting vinyl wirelessly to compatible speakers or headphones. It also supports aptX Adaptive and aptX HD, while integrated Auracast technology allows the Wave to broadcast audio to multiple compatible speakers or headphones. The Wave turntable is priced at £349/US$499/€399 (approximately AU$799–$899) with Australian retail information yet to be announced.
