California leaders aim to put cap on resale ticket prices for certain venues

California lawmakers are considering legislation limiting how much someone can charge when re-selling tickets for live events, but only for some venues.
Skyrocketing costs for live venue tickets has been an issue across the country, with many saying ticket broker tactics have forced many fans to secondary markets.
Tickets on those secondary markets tend to be marked up by hundreds or even thousands of dollars over the original price.
NBC Bay Area reached out to ticket re-selling site StubHub for comment and was directed to a group called the Ticket Policy Forum.
The group claims the bill "will drive ticket sellers offline when they resell their tickets, which is where fraud and scams run rampant."
